We specialise in one piece swimsuits and bikinis that are made from high-quality and sustainable Italian Lycra in Sydney, Australia. We are small, and proud of it. We launch only one collection per year and endeavour to provide a great product whilst minimizing the impact on our planet.
A REVIVAL OF 50S SWIMWEAR
Central Coast boutique swimwear label, Contessa Volpi, has launched its latest collection ‘Saint-Tropez’. Boasting a gorgeous line up of eco-friendly swimsuits and sarongs, the form-flattering range celebrates the diversity of the female shape. With a variety of styles , cuts and fabrics, Contessa Volpi’s new range is designed to make women of all ages and body types feel comfortable, sexy and confident this summer.
Contessa Volpi’s Designer Enrica Volpi, said the new line offers a contemporary, flirty twist for Australian beachside fashion.
Lovingly handmade in Sydney, the collection was designed to exude the cheerfulness and euphoria of the 1950s. Reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot in the Golden Age of cinema, Contessa Volpi’s summer line is a modern-day salute to the curvaceous silhouettes of vintage beauty icons.

Enrica explains, “I like to think of 1950s fashion as akin to a bright summer’s day, full of glamorous shapes and thoughtful prints and this collection is a celebration of that. We’ve taken the feminine and playful aspects of 50s swimsuit fashion and combined it with a sleek, modern feel – I adore this new collection and the initial response has been extremely positive.”
“When I design my swimwear I want to celebrate the beauty of all women; I believe every woman is beautiful, every age is beautiful, and every decade of life brings out a new form of beauty. While I’ve always designed my swimwear to enhance natural curves, this year I’ve added sarongs to provide women with more choices. Our sarongs are designed to fit everyone. They’re extra long and wide, so you can fold and tie them anyway that suits you.”
RETRO GLAMOUR AND EUROPEAN SOPHISTICATION
Available in a colour palette of earthy tones of green foliage, brown, white and black with a mix of prints, shells, marine elements and geometricals, Contessa Volpi’s summer line is like stepping back in time.
Featuring new twisted bandeaus , cheeky asymmetric cuts and new sarongs, the new season swimwear is a perfect blend of 50s glamour and current style trends.
SUSTANAIBILITY
Contessa Volpi uses a high quality, Italian Lycra using ECONYL®, which is a yarn that comes from 100% regenerated materials such as fishing nets and other plastic pieces recovered from the ocean. There’s just something so poetic about taking ocean waste and turning it into beautiful, luxury swimwear.
Beyond the swimwear itself, all Contessa Volpi orders are shipped using sustainable packaging that can easily be composted at home.
Enrica says, "Contessa Volpi was born from my deep belief that fashion should be beautiful, ethical, and intentionally created.
Conscious of overproduction, I choose to produce only a very limited number of pieces each year — each swimsuit 100% Australian-designed and lovingly handmade here in Sydney. This allows me to focus on quality, craftsmanship, and the small details that make every piece feel truly special.

MEET THE FOUNDER
For those who are new here, I’d love to introduce myself.
I’m Enrica Volpi, founder of Contessa Volpi.
My journey began in Milan, where I studied fashion at the New Academy of Fine Arts and worked alongside renowned designers in Northern Italy.
Later, I spent a year travelling across Australia and completely fell in love with its lifestyle, culture, and breathtaking natural landscapes.
That experience inspired me to create Contessa Volpi — a luxury and sustainable swimwear brand proudly 100% designed and made in Australia.
I founded Contessa Volpi with one simple belief: every woman is beautiful, at every size and every age. Each piece I design is created to enhance natural curves, helping women feel comfortable, confident, and effortlessly sexy, celebrating themselves exactly as they are.
